This year, we’re stepping up to a challenge that pushes both body and mind, The Dunker.
Known officially as the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training Simulator (HUET), the Dunker is used in the offshore industry to prepare people for one of the toughest emergency situations imaginable: a helicopter ditching into water.
The simulator is designed to replicate a real helicopter cabin and can rotate a full 180 degrees while submerged in a pool holding over 250,000 litres of water. Once inside, participants must stay calm, find their exits, and escape safely, all while upside-down and underwater.
