Another busy half term break!

This half term holiday the children enjoyed a visit to London, they explored Flamborough with Rewilding Youth, they relaxed and appreciated the animals at Goxhill Meadows and made some superb creations at Maker Space.

London Visit

On Tuesday, a group of 8 children visited London. The children visited the fantastic KidZania – an indoor learning and development centre. KidZania is a realistic mini-city experience where the children role-play in different careers and earn KidZania money that they can then spend in the giftshop. The group then enjoyed the River Cruise – taking in the sights and learning about the history of London.

One of our young people let us know that they, ‘loved every minute!’ of the London experience and that it inspired them to think about their future prospects – they would love to be in the police or an artist.

Flamborough visit with Rewilding Youth

Another group of young people visited Flamborough with Rewilding Youth. The children went rock pooling, marine life spotting and enjoyed a delicious BBQ on the beach. Some of our young people were particularly surprised to discover that they enjoyed the taste of seaweed and cooked their own with the BBQ on the beach!

Goxhill Meadows

The children relaxed and enjoyed the company of each other and the animals at Goxhill Meadows. They observed and learnt how to understand the animals and their emotions, and we learnt so much about ourselves in the process. The children worked hard to build their confidence and how to control their body language to ensure that the animals felt safe. The adults were very proud of the teamwork, determination, and compassion that the children demonstrated.

Maker Space

The children love Maker Space and are always eager to return! The focus of the workshop was to become connected to nature and create our own botanical environment that the children can watch grow over the summer. During this workshop the children assembled, decorated and personalized their own planters. They mixed their own soil to create the right habitat and learnt how to look after the plants. We can’t wait to receive updates!
