HEY CU Children's Board Launch

On Monday 6th October we brought our HEY CU Children’s Board of Trustees together for their very first meeting. The board will embark on a 2-year tenure to represent children’s voices and help shape the future of our charity.

The children’s first visit took place at the Guildhall. The children spent their first meeting discussing their purpose as board members and looked at the different roles they will serve during their time with us.

To support the children, they met the Lord Mayor to hear about her role, and councillors who spoke about their areas of responsibility. The children asked some fantastic questions, and were described as ‘power houses’ for being brave and bold enough to step into the role.

Our board consists of 24 children from across 8 local primary schools. They are already talking about the big impact they want to make and have some exciting projects in store. Keep an eye out for more on what our Children’s Board are up too.
