The children from Hall Road Academy had two incredible days exploring Edinburgh all thanks to our platinum partners Northern Gas Networks.
The children loved the train journey up north, completing their work books and naming their trip mascot, Northern Gas Networks teddy - ‘Phil’.
They first visited Dynamic Earth a fascinating science museum and planetarium to learn all about how the earth has evolved over years and they even got to touch an iceberg! Then the children thoroughly enjoyed participating in some traditional Highland dancing with instructor Rachael. They did an incredible job at picking up some tricky moves and had bags of energy.
The sleepover was a roaring success, even Phil got to spend quality time with his new teddy friends.
Day two started with some essential souvenir shopping followed by a fabulous trip to Edinburgh Castle. The children returned home with new skills, a greater understanding of the world and memories to last a lifetime.
Experiences like this are invaluable for building children’s confidence and developing their self esteem. We would like to say a huge thank you to Northern Gas Networks for giving the children this opportunity.
