Step into Christmas with HEY CU

Christmas is in full swing here at HEY CU!

Hull Truck Theatre

A group of children from both our Primary and Secondary programmes attended Hull Truck Theatre to watch the captivating production of Oliver Twist. Our trip to Hull Truck Theatre was not only a fun evening out, but also a wonderful opportunity to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a love for the arts.

Thank you to Hull Truck Theatre for gifting these tickets.

Hull City Hall

A group of children from the Letterbox Reading Programme attended Hull City Hall for a live orchestral performance of The Snowman. This special event offered the children a rare opportunity to hear a professional orchestra while watching the classic animated film. For many, it was their first time hearing an orchestra perform live, and the setting provided an inspiring introduction to the world of classical music.

Maker Space

A group of children stepped into a transformed Makerspace at Hull Central Library - one that looked a little more like Santa’s workshop! Makerspace is a STEM workshop and the activities provided encourage the children to work both independently and collaboratively, plan and adapt designs and experiment with new tools, materials and techniques. At HEY CU, we plan and deliver experiences that are ACE – the experiences support aspirations, increase confidence and promote engagement. With stations for printing, assembling, joining, spray-painting, and moulding, the possibilities and Christmas magic were endless. The children worked with members of the HEY CU team, volunteers and Maker Space staff to bring their ideas to life. The children even took ownership of showcasing their creations by taking their own photos (showcased below!)
